Boxy Pillow DIY

So I've seen these awesome sitting pillows on Pinterest, as well as words drawn on pillows.

Well any way, I took an old business linen pair (jacket and skirt) and wrote some identity reminders all over them with sharpie (Next time I'll screen print it).

Usually my favorite fabric is hanging on my wall, but it was taken down for this project. I was terrified this wouldn't work out.
Then my last needle broke on my machine...
 Finial project on my bed.
The project description is not very detailed, if more information is wanted comment!

Leather Jacket

But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven. Matthew 10:33 NIV

Black Jeans: American Eagle
Floral Top: Pac Sun
Necklace: Charlotte Russe

This is my lovely friend Bonaire. She is one of my favorite people to laugh with, which we do... very often. Yesterday we walked in our first block class with practically the same leather jacket on. So of course she's on the blog! Today she walked in with a denim top.. which I had on as well. We may not have all of the same opinions on everything but she's still my soul sister.

H&M Haul

Nehemiah 8:10

10 Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

Past week:
-feeling at peace
-new glasses
-realizing I'm poor
-staying up too late
-praying a lot
-feeling joyful
-getting pimples
-had actual conversations with acquaintances
-derivatives are pointless
-appreciating my friends
-lunch date with Hannah Weisensale

Pretty sure the only crappy part of this week was that I got cut off this morning while driving to school.. And if that's my biggest issue then LIFE IS GOOD. I am blessed.
HAUL:
So while in Jersey, Tom and I went shopping (yay). I splurged in H&M, got a few things from forever21, and took home this awesome T-shirt for Tom's mission trip.
His class leaves Friday at 3 am so prayers for safe travels would be much appreciated, I'm sure.

These are some nice steals I got from the mall.

Jewelry:

Finally snatched a leather jacket for 12 DOLLARS at forever21. Um yes.

What we concluded: Every store had sales right now in order to bring in the next seasons stuff, so if you want to go shopping now is a good time. Of course there will always be sales, and probably more important things to put your money towards but I'm content with my decisions. :)

Hey look at me posting on Monday's and Friday's :) I'm starting to get the hang of this blogging thing.

Jersey Valentine's Day Recap

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. Romans 8:35,37 NIV

Jersey
So this past weekend/long weekend (Thurs-Sun (Thanks Mr. and Mrs. Pottiger for letting me stay so long)) I escaped the giant PA blizzard and ventured off to NJ to accompany my boyfriend for Valentine's Day. AWHHH.

We pretty much had a blast.

During my extended stay, we went to about a million fast food places and spent a lot of money. (We're not very good with personal finance) Tom if you're reading this... We should probably do something about that.. We drank tons of chocolate milk and watched way too much Netflix. (I'm sure we weren't the only ones)

Exposing Thomas
(This might will be sappy)
Tom is genuinely a thoughtful/kind/caring person. Honestly I'm not even trying to be typical girlfriend. He constantly pushes me to have a bigger heart for people and I love that about him.

There is something really uplifting about being around your best friend. That person who just gets you, and you just kinda click. Does that make sense? I always find that feeling when Tom and I are laughing like crazy people. During these weekends/short times together, I am constantly reminded of how utterly blessed I am to have such an encouraging guy to share adventures with. Not everyone has that. But I refuse to believe that our relationship is an accident.

I prayed for a God-loving goofball way before I even knew what a "Pottiger" was, and Jesus delivered.
I prayed all the time. At every 11:11 only because 9/10 times my wishes don't come true, but my prayers do.
I didn't only pray to have him, but for him too. (Don't forget about that)

See, I seeked God first and ended up with some really awesome friends (Brittni, Hannah, Leah, Stods, etc.) who were a huge part in shaping the person I am today. Forever grateful to their encouragements, crazy sleepovers, overexposure to coffee, and late-night giggles. And long-story-short, through that network of friends I met Tom! Yay!

So ladies, when you're lonely, pray. When you're not lonely, pray. Don't be discouraged if you didn't have a valentine, because maybe one day someone will move from three hours away and connect you with your future Valentine. Who knows?!

Boots
(I didn't forget)
This is the outfit I wore yesterday (Sunday) to church and home. Just another look for this black ankle boot. Blue jeans and a flannel yay!

Plaid Red Shirt: Forever 21
Black Tank: Banana Republic (thrifted)
Blue Jean Skinnies: American Eagle
Black Ankle Boots: Target
Necklace: H&M
Roses: Thomas :)

Happy Valentine's Day.

Oh and I'm pretty much obsessing over this.
Any Grey's fans want to tell me how they're going to re-staff an entire hospital because all of these crazies have so many issues...
I always love this show, even when it's predictable.

Will Winter Ever End?!

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 NIV

IT'S THE MONTH OF LOVE. HAPPY FEBRUARY! :)

So the snow is back and it seems to want to stay around a little bit longer than usual this season.

This is some pictures from Lake Meade I took the other week. We're are cleaning it out for the first time in a long time! Go family!
ooo scenery.

So due to the snowy spirit and my abundant boot collection, I decided I would wear my boots for the next week or so. This way I maximize my usage of them considering (hopefully) after this snow, spring will be arriving and boots will slowly be put back into the box until next year.

So yesterday I started with a pair that I rarely wear.

 1. Brown Combat Boots
I bought from famous footwear probably 3 years ago.
I was super excited when I bought them and wore them a lot. Though even with that small heal, I was uncomfortable because the shoes made me taller than everyone (3 yrs. ago when everyone was still short). I don't think I really ever got over that feeling so I just don't wear them that often.
They are warm inside with a sheep's wool-like texture. SUPA NICE.

 2. Black Ankle Boots

I just got these from Target!! And I was soooo excited. Love at first sight you know? Okay so I wore them today and besides some miner aches from the sides, they were really comfortable! I think the best part is that the heal doesn't make an obnoxiously loud noise when I walk across hard surfaces. That is so annoying when I'm walking down my school hallways.
Super cute, if you're looking for trendy new boots, go to Target!

I paired these boots with black skinny jeans a looser fitting graphic-t and a light grey cardigan.
